What an incredible night on the Gold Coast!

On Saturday, 5 September, 800 people came together at The Star Gold Coast for RizeUp’s fourth Gala Ball - and together, we raised an extraordinary $620,000!

That included an incredible $275,000 contribution from our friends at Amcal.  

And the impact didn’t stop there. 

On the night, we were incredibly proud to announce a major new partnership with the JAMES FRIZELLE CHARITABLE FOUNDATION, which will see RizeUp make its long-term home in a $4.495 million purpose-built facility in Helensvale, spanning approximately 934sqm. 

As one of seven selected Legacy Charities, this partnership with the Foundation is transformational for RizeUp. 

The new facility will significantly increase our capacity to receive, store, prepare and distribute the essential items needed to establish RizeUp Homes. It will give our volunteers and team the space and infrastructure we need to grow our response as demand continues to grow. 

To the JAMES FRIZELLE CHARITABLE FOUNDATION, thank you for believing in RizeUp, our work and where we are going. This is so much more than bricks and mortar. It gives us stability, security and permanent roots in the community where RizeUp began - and creates an incredible platform for what comes next. 

The $620,000 raised at the Gala Ball means we can establish 95 RizeUp Homes for those navigating the impacts of domestic and family violence. 

That is 95 homes filled with beds, linen, furniture, kitchenware, appliances and all the practical things a family needs as they establish safety and stability. 

To every person who bought a raffle ticket, bid on an auction item, raised a paddle or made a donation - thank you. You made this extraordinary result possible.
